Brother James(Jim) Roszak was a graduate of Cretin High School in St. Paul, Minnesota who entered the Brothers novitiate in Glencoe, Missouri following high school. Jim's teaching career in English classes began under the tutelage of such legendary icons such as Brothers Linus Urban, Julius Haun, and Herman Raphael. From that point on, Brother James Roszak taught a variety of English classes at both the secondary and tertiary levels. It is well known that if you give Jim a collection of ten commas, five subject complements, five object complements, twelve adverbs, a dozen or so conjunctions, and half a dozen prepositions that Jim could cobble together a nice ten line sentence. Brother JamesRoszak is another Brother giant in the field of education. Introduce a conversation about a passage in a book, an essay, or a letter, and you will be delighted with the direction the conversation takes. He is an active listener and pays attention to his conversation partner. He is not one of those people who is thinking ahead about what he will say but is genuinely responsive to what is being saidto him. Jim is incredibly thoughtful,solicitous and caring for everyone's welfare, and an absolutely engagingconversationalist. One never feelsrushed with Jim because he is definitely present. Brother James Roszak is also a musician andcook - a man of many talents. We are blessed to be able to call Jim ourBrother.
