Benilde-St. Margaret’s is delighted to welcome Dan Wrobleski to the Red Knight community as the new BSM high school principal beginning in the 2025-2026 academic year.
“Dan is an experienced and inspiring academic leader whose skills and expertise will help us continue to elevate the high school experience for our students,” said Danielle Hermanny ‘03, BSM president. “He is grounded in his Catholic faith and recognizes the unique value of Catholic education and BSM’s position as a leader in Catholic, college prep education in the Twin Cities.”
Wrobleski joins BSM from the DaVinci Academy of Science and Arts school where he currently serves as principal. He previously served as high school principal at Columbia Heights High School, leading efforts to elevate test scores, expand AP course offerings, and implement task forces to improve the overall student experience. Under Wrobleski’s leadership, Columbia Heights Schools was named a 2016 Advanced Placement District of the Year, one of only 425 districts in the U. S. and Canada receiving the honor. Prior to that, Wrobleski worked as an assistant principal at Centennial High School, Circle Pines, and dean of students at Maple Grove Senior High School.
“Dan shares BSM’s commitment to holistic education and the development of the whole child, which is deeply rooted in our Catholic identity,” Hermanny said, noting, “Every Red Knight is seen, known, and loved at BSM, and Dan will lead our high school faculty as we form students who grow into men and women of character who contribute meaningfully in their communities.”
Wrobleski succeeds Stephanie Nitchals who retired at the conclusion of the 2023-2024 school year. During the 2024-2025 school year, Matt Weingartz served as interim high school principal. “I am very grateful to Matt for leading the senior high during the current school year,” Hermanny said, “His commitment to BSM ensured there was no disruption in our ability to provide students with an exceptional education.”
For Wrobleski, the role is one which comes full circle, as his father, Robert, was a member of Benilde High School’s inaugural Class of 1959. His family couldn’t afford to send Dan and his two siblings to BSM in the 1980s, however the high school principal role allows him to foster a culture where faith and learning go hand in hand.
“What excites me most about this position is the opportunity to engage with students, faculty, and families in a way that strengthens both academic excellence and spiritual development,” Wrobleski said. “I am eager to build relationships with students and support them in their educational journey while helping them grow in their faith.”
Wrobleski believes that education is not just a means to a career, but a foundation for a life of purpose and service. “I look forward to working alongside the dedicated educators at BSM and contributing to a school culture that continues to inspire excellence in both academics and character,” Wrobleski noted, “I hope to bring a vision of collaboration, innovation, and a deep commitment to student success.”
Dan and his wife Rachelle have three children and are parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker parish in Maple Grove, MN. Dan is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a B. S. degree in Business Education, the University of St. Mary’s with a Master’s in Education, and a Sixth-Year Administrative Leadership certification from St. Cloud State University
Over the coming months, Dan will be present on campus to meet with faculty and staff in preparation for the 2025-2026 school year, in anticipation of the official start during the summer.
We welcome Dan Wrobleski to the BSM community and are excited to have him join us in the coming months.
