We remember and pray for our Brother Neil Kieffe, FSC, age 93. Brother Neil died July 20, 2026, in Romeoville, Illinois. A De La Salle Christian Brother for 68 years, he was born William Charles Kieffe, Jr. on May 21, 1933, in St. Joseph (Buchanan) Missouri. He received the Religious Habit in May 1958, in Glencoe, Missouri and pronounced his Perpetual Vows - 1964 in Lockport, Illinois.
Survivors include his sister, Mrs. Kay Barmettler, his niece, Beth Laws, his nephew James Barmettler, and the Christian Brothers of the Midwest.

A DeLa Salle Christian Brother for 68 years, he was born William Charles Kieffer,Jr. on May 21, 1933, to William C. Kieffe and Margaret (Redmond) Kieffe in St.Joseph (Buchanan), Missouri. He attendedCreighton University in Omaha, NE and graduated from Iowa State in Ames, Iowawith a BsAeroE. He also attended SaintMary’s in Winona, MN and received both an MS and Ed.D. from Northern IllinoisUniversity in DeKalb, IL. He served inthe USAF at Wright-Petterson AFB. Hetaught at De La Salle Institute and was the Principal at Saint Patrick HighSchool in Chicago. Br. Neil was aprofessor and administrator at Lewis University in Romeoville, IL for manyyears. He also spent 31 years atBethlehem University in Bethlehem, Palestine, as the Director of InstructionalTechnology and Academic Vice President. Survivorsinclude his sister, Mrs. Kay Barmettler of Cullman, AL, his niece, Beth Laws ofRichmond, VA, his nephew James Barmettler of Camas, WA, and the De La SalleChristian Brothers.
