The Christian Brothers of the Midwest share with deep sorrow the passing of Colleen A. Dunne, M. Div., President of De La Salle Blackfeet School. Ms. Dunne died following complications from open heart surgery in Salt Lake City. The surgery itself was successful, but other factors led to her death.
A native Montanan, Colleen came to the presidency with a clear sense of calling and a deep familiarity with the school and its community. She had previously served as DLSBS's Director of Development and brought years of experience in campus ministry, faith formation, and mission integration from institutions including the University of Notre Dame and Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. She was appointed president following the retirement of Brother Dale Mooney, FSC, and had served in the role since May 2025.
When she accepted the position, Colleen spoke of her work at DLSBS as a vocation: "I'm honored to return to this sacred mission. The spirit of the Blackfeet community and the Lasallian commitment to faith, service, and education continue to inspire my vocation.” Her loss is felt deeply by the school community, the Christian Brothers, and the wider Lasallian family.
Please keep Colleen's family and the De La Salle Blackfeet community in your prayers as they mourn and grieve their loss.
Live Jesus In our Hearts. Forever
