Br. Henry Norbert

Edward Joseph Reynolds was born the son of Thomas and Anne Doyle Reynolds in Chicago, Illinois, on July 5, 1907. He attended St. Mel High School and at age twenty-one entered the Novitiate at Glencoe, Missouri, on June 25, 1928. Upon completing his scholastic training at Glencoe and DePaul University in Chicago, he was assigned to teach at Cretin High School in St. Paul, Minnesota, where he remained from 1932 to 1938. He continued his career teaching business and religion at De La Salle High School in Minneapolis, Minnesota, 1938-1948; Christian Brothers High School in St. Joseph, Missouri, 1948-1953; St. George High School in Evanston, Illinois, 1953-1968, De La Salle Institute in Chicago, Illinois, 1968-1969; and at Providence High School in New Lenox, Illinois, 1969-1971. He was assigned to development work at Sacred Heart Community at Lockport, Illinois, in 1971 and to work for the St. La Salle Auxiliary at Christian Brothers Center Community in Romeoville, Illinois, from 1972 to 1986. He retired there and died at age eighty-four, having been a De La Salle Christian Brothers for sixty-three years.
