Although he joined the Christian Brothers in his native land, Brother Harvich came to the District of the United States via Canada and worked at St. Michael's School in Santa Fe, New Mexico, from 1861 until 1872. His necrological notice tells us that "his life was devoted to the humble and useful functions of a servant brother." He later returned to Canada where he died in the infirmary at Montreal at age fifty-one and in his twenty-seventh year as a De La Salle Christian Brother.
