Br. Erminus Joseph Melofchik

Brother Erminus’ first teaching assignment took him to St. Johns College High School in Washington, D.C. in 1922. Six years later he was transferred to La Salle College High School where he remained until 1931 when he made the Second Novitiate in Lembecq-lez-Hal, Belgium. He then taught at St. Francis Vocational School in Eddington, PA until 1939 when he returned to St. John's College High School in Washington. In 1942 he was made Novitiate Director at Ammendale. In 1962 he was named Visitor General of all of the houses of formation and remained in that position until 1984 when he retired at De La Salle Residence on the campus of La Salle University in Philadelphia. In 1997 he moved to De La Salle Hall at Lincroft, New Jersey where he died at age 100, having been a De La Salle Christian Brothers for 84 years.
