Br. Albian (George) Dube

George Dube was born on April 13, 1837, at Riviere Quille, Canada, and entered the Novitiate at Montreal in 1853. There he received the robe and the religious name of Brother Albian. He was a teacher and eventually Director at St. Vincent's Academy on Napoleon Street in New Orleans, Louisiana. In 1874 Brother Albian was assigned to the Bridgeport Orphanage in Chicago, Illinois. He was later transferred to the Orphanage at Troy, New York, where he died at age fifty, having been a De La Salle Christian Brother for thirty-four years.
