Br. Absadius Michael

John Moroney was born in 1872 in New York and entered the Novitiate at Amawalk at age seventeen in 1889. There he received the habit and religious name of Brother Absadius Michael. He taught at La Salle Academy, Providence, Rhode Island, and the Academy of the Sacred Heart in New York City. He was sent to Memphis for health reasons with the belief that the drier climate would be of help. He died there at age twenty-two, having been a De la Salle Christian Brother for only five years.
