Brother  Michael Callahan, 84, died on August 3, 2018 at Our Lady of Peace Hospice in St. Paul, MN. A De La Salle Christian Brother for 65 years, he was born in Minneapolis, son of Michael and Elizabeth (Lannon) Callahan. He graduated from Cretin H.S. in St. Paul, MN, and entered the novitiate of the Brothers in 1952 in Glencoe, MO. He professed his perpetual vows in 1959 at Beaver Island, MI. He earned a BA from Saint Mary’s University in Winona, MN, and a MRE from Loyola University Chicago. During his years as an educator Brother Michael taught in St. Paul, St. Louis Park and Minneapolis, MN; Manitowoc and  Stevens Point, WI; Westchester, IL and Cedar Rapids, IA. From 1996 to 2006 he served in the Brothers’ formation programs in Addis Ababa and Nazareth, Ethiopia, and in Rongai, Kenya. Brother Michael retired in 2006 and moved to Minneapolis in 2012.
