James Fitzpatrick was born on October 21, 1844, the son of Patrick and Mary Evans Fitzpatrick in Ennicorty, Ossory, Ireland.  He emigrated to the United States and entered the Brothers' Novitiate at Carondelet on May 9, 1880, at the age of thirty-six.  Few records are available about Brother Jude Thaddeus but we do know that he was assigned as "econome" at Carondelet in August of 1881 and that his teaching assignments included St. Nicolas school in Bernalillo, New Mexico, and the Brothers' School in Kansas City.  He died in Kansas City in 1913 at age sixty-nine and in his thirty-third year as a De la Salle Christian Brother.
