Br. John Mark

Brother John Mark received his B.A. and M.A. degrees from DePaul University in Chicago and began teaching in 1933 at De La Salle High School in Kansas City, Missouri. He taught in Minnesota at De La Salle High School, Cotter High School in Winona, and Cretin High School in St. Paul. He also taught at La Salle High School in Manila, the Philippines, Christian Brothers College High School in St. Louis, Missouri, Bishop Noll High School in Hammond, Indiana, and Bishop Gallagher High School in Detroit, Michigan. He served as director of Holy Family Community in Glencoe in 1963. Primarily a teacher of history during his thirty-six year career as an educator, his love of music often led him to be a moderator for his beloved band and chorus. He died at age sixty-five and in his forty-eighth year as a De La Salle Christian Brother.
