Brother Raymond began his association with the Brothers early in his life when he attended and graduated from St. Alphonsus Rock Church Commercial Institute Elementary School in St. Louis, then conducted by the Christian Brothers.  After attending Christian Brothers High School in nearby Clayton, Missouri, for two years, he entered the Junior Novitiate at Glencoe.  After completing his B.A. Degree at DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois, he began his teaching career at Christian Brothers High School in St. Joseph, Missouri, in 1930.  For the next forty-four years he was to teach Religion, English, Latin, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry at De La Salle High School, St. Patrick High School and St. Mel High School in Chicago, Illinois; Cotter High School in Winona, Minnesota; St. George High School in Evanston, Illinois; Price High School in Amarillo, Texas; Providence High School in New Lenox, Illinois, and completed his teaching career at his beloved alma mater, Christian Brothers High School in St. Louis, Missouri.  He retired to La Salle Institute in Glencoe, Missouri, where he helped at the Retreat Center there and served as the District Archivist.  He became a volunteer with the Criminal Justice Ministry and tutored some inmates in math at the prison in Pacific, Missouri, during his retirement years.  Brother Raymond died on January 24, 1987, at age seventy-seven and in his sixty-second year as a De La Salle Christian Brother.
