Br. Ignatius of Mary

Brother Ignatius entered the Institute after having fought "valiantly for the defense of St. Siege". He taught in Santa Fe in 1876-1877. He left the Institute but returned to the New York District later and was principally employed in our orphan institutes in New York and was noted for his affectionate devotion to poor children. Ill health plagued him most of his life and he died at age forty-eight in his twentieth year as a De La Salle Christian Brother.
