Br. Felix Basilio

Alberto Leonidas Guillen was born the son of Jesus and Adela Izquierdo Guillen on January 15, 1896, in Gualaceo, Ecuador. He entered the Juniorate on December 10, 1911, and two years later on August 25, 1912, he entered the Novitiate where he received the habit and receiving the religious name of Felix Basilio. Brother Felix completed his Scholasticate in October of 1915 and received his first assignment at Miguel in Ecuador. His tour of duty includes Ecuador in 1930; Peru in 1932; Venezuela in 1935; Nicaragua in 1937; and Panama in 1949. In 1960 Brother Felix became a member of the Minneapolis - St. Paul District. He taught at Colegia San Jose in Bluefields, Nicaragua, from 1960 to 1968. He is listed at Hermanos Christianos from 1969 to 1972. He retired in Leon, Nicaragua, Central America, and died there at age seventy-nine, having been a De La Salle Christian Brother for sixty-three years.
