Brother Diego Thomas attended St. Michael's High School in Santa Fe before entering the Brothers. He taught from 1872 to 1889 in Mora, Santa Fe, Las Vegas and Bernalillo. From 1913 to 1918 he was assigned in Rochester, Minnesota, Kansas City, Missouri, and, for a short time, at La Salle Institute in Glencoe, Missouri. Brother Diego Thomas was assigned to Sacred Heart College in 1919 in Las Vegas, New Mexico, where he later became Sub-Director of the Novitiate, a position he retained until his death in 1927. He was seventy years of age at the time of his death and in his fifty-fifth year as a De La Salle Christian Brother.
