Br. Cyril of Jesus

Francis Curtin was born the son of John and Catherine Shauhnessy Curtin in Canada. Upon his completion of his Novitiate he was assigned to a community in New York. Because of health difficulties he was assigned in 1868 to the Brothers' Community at Carondelet, Missouri, for his rest and recovery. His health deteriorated and he died in the infirmary at Carondelet on January 14th, 1869, at age twenty-four and in only his fourth year as a De La Salle Christian Brothers. His remains now rest in the crypt in Calvary Cemetery at La Salle Institute, Glencoe, Missouri.
