Br. Cecilian

He taught classes from 1853 to 1860 in New York. In 1858, Archbishop Kenrick of St. Louis moved his seminarians from a building in Carondelet and it became an orphanage for fifty children. Brother Cecilian became the first Director in January 1860. He was later replaced by Brother Polycarpus of Mary and Brother Cecilian was named Director of the orphanage at Troy, New York, where he spent the remainder of his life as Director, econome, infirmarian and builder after a destructive fire leveled the building. He died at the age of seventy-eight, having been a De La Salle Christian Brother for forty-five years
