Brother Andronis came to the Brothers' Novitiate of Paris at age twenty-five, in the spring of 1836. He taught at Montreau and Paris and after only seven years in his native country as an educator he came to North America. He was Sub-Director in New York from 1848 to 1850, when he moved to Montreal, Canada, to become Director of the Juniorate. He moved from Montreal to become Director of the Brothers' Community in New Orleans, Louisiana, and remained there until 1853 and at the River Rouge (Red River) Community in Louisiana until 1860. He returned to Passe, France, where he spent the next thirty-three years of his life as bursar for the school there. On January 9th he suffered an attack of influenza which destroyed his strength and he collapsed while at chapel. Two days later, on January 11, 1898, at age eighty-seven and in his sixty-second year as a De La Salle Christian Brother, he died at our community in Caen, France.
