Br. Amatoris Joseph

n 1867 Brother Amatoris was teaching at St. Patrick's in St. Louis. His tour of duty included the Bridgeport Asylum Orphanage, caring for the victims of the Chicago fire of 1871. He is recorded as a prefect at Prairie du Chien in 1875, the Orphanage at Glencoe in 1881, Feehanville orphanage in 1885, St. Joseph's Academy in New Orleans from 1887-1889 and again at Feehanville from 1895 to 1906. In August of 1911 he partially retired to De La Salle community in Chicago where he died on January 31, 1912, at age seventy-three years of age, having been a De La Salle Christian Brother for forty-three years.
