Br. Adrian Farrell

Bernard Himmenkamp was born in Westphalia, Allemagne, on December 9, 1848. At the urging of his older brother, who was a Christian Brother already, Bernard entered the Novitiate in Carondelet on the 13th of August 1873. There he received the robe and the religious name of Brother Adrian Farrell on November 1, 1873. He was assigned to St. Vincent's School in St. Louis, Missouri, to teach and it was there that toward the middle of May 1881, he became aware of a serious blood disease which would cause his premature death at age thirty-three, having been a De la Salle Christian Brother for only eight years
