Vincent Leo Carney was born in 1932 in Emmetsburg, Iowa, and made his Novitiate in 1962 in Winona, at age forty-two. There he received the habit of the Brothers and the religious name of Vincent Ambrose. In 1966 he was assigned to the Christian Brothers Retreat House and four years later he was assigned to Grace High School in 1970. He died suffering cancer at age fifty-four, having been a De La Salle Christian Brother for twelve years
