Cyprien Pommier was born at Montelimaro, France, on April 8, 1812, and at the age of fifteen sought entrance to the Novitiate at Avignon on December 2, 1827. He received the robe on October 21st and the religious name of Brother Turibe. After spending many years in boarding schools in France, Brother Facile brought Brother Turibe to America where he was Director in 1853 of the new boarding school at CBC, St. Louis. In 1861 he was Director in Montreal and became Visitor of Canada and the United States when Brother Facile was elected Assistant to the Superior General (1861-1873). When the District of the United States was formed, Brother Turibe returned to France for four years. Brother Turibe served in Pass Christian, Mississippi, in the late 1860's and was assigned in St. Louis in 1871 and in Chicago as Director of St. Patrick's High School in 1873. He returned to France to St. Mary's boarding school in Marseilles where he died at age seventy-two, having been a De La Salle Christian Brother for fifty-seven years.
