John Weil was born on November 14, 1914, at Pagedale, St. Louis County, Missouri. John attended Christian Brothers College High School in St. Louis as a cadet and was inspired there to enter the Novitiate of the Brothers at Glencoe on September 10, 1933. He received the habit and religious name of Brother Kiaran Wilfrid and completed his undergraduate degree at St. Mary's College in Winona, Minnesota, in 1937. His career as a business teacher and his lifetime as an avid sports fan took him to De La Salle High School in Minneapolis, Minnesota 1937; St. Mel High School in Chicago, Illinois 1938-1949; Cretin High School in St. Paul, Minnesota, 1954-61; and Christian Brothers High School in St. Louis, Missouri 1961-1975. He served as Sub-Director three different times at Cretin and twice at CBC in St. Louis. He died of a stroke at age sixty-one, having been a De La Salle Christian Brother for forty-two years.
