Br. Josephus Michael

On February 10, 1910, John A. and Ernestine Le Verd AuBuchon gave birth to a son they named Harry C. in St. Louis, Missouri. He attended St. Alphonsus (Rock) School and entered the Juniorate at age fourteen on June 18, 1924, at Glencoe, Missouri. There he graduated to the Novitiate in August of 1927 where he received the habit and religious name of Brother Josephus Michael. His teaching assignments took him to St. Mel's in Chicago, Illinois, 1931-1934; Cretin High School in St. Paul, Minnesota, 1934-1935 & 1947-1949; Cotter High School, Winona, Minnesota 1935-1944; S. George High School in Evanston, Illlinois, 1944-1945; CBC, Memphis, Tennessee, 1945-1947; De La Salle High School in Kansas City, Missouri, 1949-1952 & 1953-1954; Central Catholic High School in Vincennes, Indiana, 1952-1953; and Christian Brothers College High School in St. Louis, Missouri, 1954-1962 & 1962-1971. He taught Latin and Mathematics but in 1962 suffered a heart attack but continued to teach at CBC in St. Louis until 1971 when he moved to St. Paul, Minnesota, to assist at the Provincialate Community. He died there at age sixty-one, having been a De La Salle Christian Brother for forty-seven years.
