George Parent was born in 1831 in Canada and entered the Novitiate at Montreal where he received the robe of the Brothers and the religious name of Brother Ezekiah. He was assigned to teach at St. Mary's School in New Orleans and he died there during the Yellow Fever epidemic in 1853 at the age of twenty-two, having been a De La Salle Christian Brother for less than ten years.
