Peter Brunold was born in Mengenke, Voradelberg, Austria, on March 19, 1825. He emigrated to the United States with his family and at age forty-seven entered the Novitiate at Carondelet, Missouri, where he received the habit in March of 1872 and the religious name of Brother Eucairius. We only know that he was assigned to St. John's College in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, in February of 1873 and to Detroit at the end of that same year. He died of a bronchial ailment in 1900 at the age of seventy-five, having been a De La Salle Christian Brother for twenty-eight years.
