Little is known about Brother Charles, other than his birth in Ireland and his presumed entrance to the Institute through the Novitiate in Montreal. It appears his first teaching assignment probably was in New Orleans where it is believed he died of Yellow Fever. He was twenty four years old and had been a De La Salle Christian Brother for less than ten years. Some calendars show his death date as September 17th.
