Br. Anthony Pisano
Anthony P. Pisano was born on October 20, 1948, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and raised in the nearby coal town of Pittston. He was the son of Anthony Michael and Marguerite Loro Pisano and the middle child between two sisters, Barbara and Marguerite. He attended school in Pittston and upon graduation from high school entered the postulancy on June 15, 1966, and received the habit of the Brothers in August of that year. He took his undergraduate studies at La Salle University and graduated maxima cum laude and the first in his class in 1971. He accepted a Fellowship to the University of Notre Dame where he completed his Masters in 1973 and his Doctor of Philosophy in 1974. That same year he joined the faculty of Christian Brothers University as a professor of History. He was appointed Dean of Academic Affairs at CBU in 1980. He served on many committees and boards, and belonged to many societies. In August of 1990 Brother Tony sought time away from administrative duties and accepted a position teaching at St. Mary's College in Moraga, California. He died there on September 7th at age forty-three, having been a De La Salle Christian Brother for twenty-five years.
