Charles Lehouillier was born on February 26, 1828, at St. Marie in Quebec, Canada. He entered the Novitiate at Montreal on August 9, 1849, and received the habit and religious name of Brother Adrian on September 8th. He was sent to teach at St. Vincent's School in Baltimore in 1850, to Brooklyn, New York, in 1859 and to St. Louis, Missouri, in 1860. His record shows that he taught in Chicago from 1863 to 1865 and in Philadelphia in 1865 where he died two years later at age thirty-nine, having been a De La Salle Christian Brother for eighteen years.
