Br. Lusistian O'Neill
Thomas O'Neill was born on December 14, 1861, the son of Thomas and Mary Reilly O'Neill, in the small farming area of Green Isle, Minnesota. He entered the Novitiate at Glencoe, Missouri, on September 22, 1887. His first teaching assignment took him to St. John's School in Chicago, Illinois, and in 1889 to St Patrick's School in the same city. He was diagnosed with tuberculosis and he was forced to return to Glencoe. He recovered enough to teach at St. Vincent's in St. Louis in 1890 and as a prefect at Christian Brothers College in St. Joseph, Missouri. His health worsened and he returned to Glencoe where he died within the year. He was thirty years old at the time of his death and had been with the De La Salle Christian Brothers for four years.
