In consultation with the Districts and the Lasallian Education Council, and out of an abundance of care and caution, the Office for Lasallian Education has decided that the 2021 summer formation programs will be postponed or held virtually due to COVID-19 pandemic.
The Teacher’s Saint, a short biography of Saint John Baptist de La Salle written by Brother George Van Grieken, FSC, is now available in English, French and Spanish.
To commemorate the legacy of Saint John Baptist de La Salle, patron saint of teachers and founder of the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, the mission officers of the Lasallian Association of Colleges and Universities (LACU) will present “Justice in the World and the Mission of Lasallian Education Today: Enacting the Common Good” on April 7, the feast day of De La Salle.
A comprehensive statistical report for the Lasallian Region of North America (RELAN) detailing the 2020-2021 academic year is now available. It shows that Lasallian ministries in RELAN served 82,951 people, including 70,726 students at 88 elementary through postsecondary schools, educational centers, and youth and family services centers.
The ninth International Symposium on Lasallian Research will take place October 1-3, 2021, on the Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota Twin Cities Campus in Minneapolis. This gathering was originally scheduled for October 23-25, 2020, but it was cancelled due to concerns surrounding COVID-19. More information on the gathering will be released in the months ahead.
