Lasallian Service Award

Driving down Route 55 towards downtown Chicago, we were excited to meet with a family that has been part of the Lasallian tradition for several decades. Turning onto Randolph Street and walking in the mezzanine level office, it became clear that the Lasallian Service Award was going to wonderful people.

The Lasallian Service Award recognizes distinguished service and dedication to the Christian Brothers and their work in education. A proud alumnus of St. George High School in Evanston, Illinois, the late John Luncsford remained a great friend to the Christian Brothers throughout his life.

In memory of his life and dedication to the Brothers, the Luncsford family, including wife, Constance, sons Mark and Dan, and daughter Michal Ann have continued to support our work with printing and marketing services. We would be at a loss without their continued support.

Brother Larry Schatz, Rob Cummings and I were delighted to hear the family talk about their dad. They spoke of his golf trips to Florida with the Brothers, how their dad used to attend graduations at San Miguel Chicago, and memories of being a high school student at St. George. It re-instilled the importance of De La Salle’s message to all of us-to touch hearts and minds in whatever capacity we are capable of.
