St. Joseph High School faculty & friends traveled to Schaumburg recently to participate in Feed My Starving Children (FMSC), a Christian non-profit organization. FMSC invites children and adults to give up two hours to hand-pack meals specifically targeted for malnourished children.
SJHS joined with elementary school students from the area to first watch a video on the value of the day’s work and to learn about how to maximize everyone’s time and energy. Eight participants then went to one of the twelve available stations to fill, seal, label, and box plastic bags to be shipped to Africa. The FMSC facility in Schaumburg works with approximately 30 groups each week and the organization, to date, has sent over two billion meals to distribution centers throughout the world.
