Brother Robert Schieler Elected as Superior General
The Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools during his 45th General Chapter in Rome has chosen Robert H. Schieler to pursue the mission of Superior General in the coming years.
Brother Robert Schieler was born in 1950 in the city of Philadelphia. He made his final profession in 1979.
In his early years worked as a teacher and then spent 13 years of mission in the Philippines.
He studied Modern European History and a PhD in Educational Administration.
Was Auxiliary Visitor of the District of Baltimore from 1991 to 1998. Practised Director of Education for the USA-Toronto Region from 1998 to 2001 and was later Inspector of his district from 2001 to 2007. During the past seven years he has held the mission General Counsel for the new Lasallian Region RELAN (USA and Canada) residing in Washington.
The Institute of the Brothers of La Salle and the Lasallian Family all congratulate Robert H. Schieler and offer their unconditional support and prayer for the good performance of the new mission entrusted as 27th successor of St. John Baptist de La Salle .
Brother Jorge Gallardo de Alba Elected as Vicar General
The Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools during its 45th General Chapter in Rome has elected Br. Jorge Gallardo de Alba to the mission of Vicar General for the coming years. Brother Jorge Gallardo was born in 1959 in the town of San Juan de los Lagos, Mexico. He made his final profession in 1985.
In his early years he worked as a teacher. He studied Theology in Mexico and English in California. From 1989 to 2007 he held the roles of teacher, school director and president of the Delegation of Japan.
In 2007 he was elected Resident General Councilor in Rome, taking special responsibility in the field of solidarity and development, with a specific mission in the inter-congregational project in South Sudan.
The Institute of the De La Salle Christian Brothers and the entire Lasallian Family, congratulate Br. Jorge Gallardo and would like to offer to him our unconditional support and prayer for the new mission entrusted to him.

Br. Angel Ricardo Laguda
He was born in 1969 (Bacolod City – Philippines). He completed his formation in Manila and Lipa City and made his final vows in 1999. He has a B.A. in Philosophy, a Master of Arts in Education, a degree in Philosophy, Religious Education and a Ph.D. in Education. At present he is President of the De La Salle University in Manila.

Br. Pierre Saïdou Ouattara,
He was born in 1957 (Toussina – Burkina Fasso). He completed his formation in Tussiana and Sakabi and made his final vows in 1988. He has a Ph.D. in Philosophy. At present he is a member of the CIL Staff (International Lasallian Center – Rome)
RELAL Region (Latin America)
Br. Paulo Petry
He was born in 1958 (Arroio do Meio – Brazil). He made his formation in Curitiba and his final vows in 1988. He has a B.A. in Theology and Education. He has an M.A. in Social Communication, M.A. in Philosophy and a Ph.D. in Science.
RELEM Region (Europe and Middle East)
Br. Aidan Illtyd Kilty
He was born in 1948 (Dublin – Ireland). He completed his formation in Kintbury and made his final vows in Hopwood Hall in 1974. Studies: B.A in Education, History and English; M.A. in Religious Studies.
At present he is the Visitor of the District of Great Britain and Malta.
RELAN Region: (U.S. and Canada)
Br. Timothy Coldwell
He was born in 1956 in Denver (Colorado), United States of America.
He made his initial formation in Mesilla Park, New Mexico and his final vows in 1986. He has a B.A. in Social Science and a M. A. in Religious Education. At present he is the Visitor of the District of New Orleans – Santa Fe.
