BROWNING, Mont. – De La Salle Blackfeet School is happy to announce that Michael O’Brien has been named Principal beginning on July 1, 2016. Mr. O’Brien has spent this past year serving as a volunteer health and physical education teacher at DLSBS after moving to Montana from the Chicago area. He comes to this position with many years of teaching experience in the Lasallian tradition along with administrative and coaching experience.
“We congratulate Michael O’Brien on his appointment as principal of De La Salle Blackfeet,” said Br. Dale Mooney, President and current Principal. “With more than thirty years in Catholic educational experience, he brings the necessary focus and energy to continue the this ministry here in Browning.”
Before coming to Browning, O’Brien most recently served as a teacher, coach and administrator at DePaul College Prep in Chicago. He is a graduate of Benedictine University in Lisle, IL. He has his Master’s in Business Administration from Dominican University in River Forest, IL. During this past year in Browning in addition to teaching he has also taken leadership in the school’s self-study for renewal of accreditation through the National Catholic Education Association.
“I am thrilled at the opportunity to carry out this new Gospel Adventure,” O’Brien said. “After serving in schools sponsored by other organizations for the past few years, It has been good to be back with the De La Salle Christian Brothers.”
